Art Dispensers in Berlin: Vending Machines Offering Authentic Art Pieces
News Article: Kunstschule Berlin Introduces Kunst2Go Vending Machines for Affordable Art
Kunstschule Berlin, a renowned art school in the heart of Berlin, has launched an innovative project that offers a unique opportunity to support the underground art world. The project, known as Kunst2Go, provides affordable artworks through vending machines located at various cultural hubs across the city.
The Kunst2Go vending machines, repurposed from tights vending machines, are now operational at four locations: the nhow Berlin hotel, Mauersegler Berlin, Spok Berlin, and other creative venues. These machines offer original miniature artworks, sized about 7.5 x 9 cm, for just €8 each.
These exclusive collectible miniature pieces include portraits and various styles by different artists. The medium ranges from sketches and painted works to glass, watercolour, lino print, urban landscapes, and collages. Each artwork is curated to be unique and not available elsewhere, ensuring a diverse and artistic variety for art enthusiasts.
Rahel Bachem, the inventor of the Tattoomat, was consulted for the modernization of the vending machines. The fifth and final vending machine will feature a dedicated slot and button for each of the 15 artists involved in the project. This allows customers to choose artworks from a specific artist with ease.
The project reinforces the notion that the size of a piece of art does not determine its value. By starting their own art collection without a significant financial investment, customers can explore and appreciate the art world in a new and accessible way.
For those interested in the Kunst2Go project, the official Instagram account provides updates and precise locations of the vending machines. To stay up-to-date, follow Kunst2Go on Instagram.
Proceeds from the sales of the artworks will continue to go directly to the artists, supporting the local art community in Berlin. This initiative not only provides an affordable art experience for customers but also supports the artists and the underground art world.
