Appointment of New Managing Director in Urbanism Sector Announced
Barbara Früh Named New Managing Director of Stadtbau GmbH in Pforzheim
Barbara Früh, a seasoned public sector administrator with extensive experience in various departments, has been appointed as the new managing director of Stadtbau GmbH, effective February 1, 2024, in Pforzheim.
Born in 1978, Früh has a rich background in managing public properties in the Karlsruhe district. She served as the head of the building management department at the Karlsruhe district office, the finance and participation department, and the technical building administration department of the Karlsdorf-Neuthard community. Her responsibilities included planning, maintenance, operation, energy supply, and building technology for all public properties.
Früh's career path also includes a stint as the deputy head of the finance and participation department at the Karlsruhe district office. She also served as the chairperson of the communal institution for housing in the Karlsruhe district. Notably, she managed around 30 refugee accommodations in the Karlsruhe district.
Prior to her public service, Früh worked as a freelance project coordinator and the IT project manager and document management system manager for the Schoeck Group in Baden-Baden. She completed her studies in civil engineering with a focus on construction operations at the Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences in 2003.
Früh is no stranger to managing large teams, with experience overseeing up to 90 employees. She is well-versed in managing significant budgets and coordinating complex construction projects with various stakeholders.
The appointment was welcomed by Peter Boch, the chairman of the supervisory board and mayor, who commented that Früh is an excellent choice for the management of Stadtbau GmbH. Siegfried Apfel has been appointed as the interim managing director until Früh takes over.
Früh, who lives in a stable partnership, is looking forward to the challenges and tasks of managing Stadtbau Pforzheim, which range from the administration of the housing stock to the construction of new apartments to urban development.
Barbara Früh's expertise in managing public properties extends beyond the Karlsruhe district, as she plans to apply her skills to the lifestyle and home-and-garden sector in her new role at Stadtbau GmbH in Pforzheim. In addition to administering the housing stock and construction of new apartments, Barbara Früh intends to contribute to the urban development of Pforzheim, enhancing its overall home-and-garden aesthetic and lifestyle.
