In the heart of Syktyvkar, a city in the Russian Republic of Komi, a new development called "Apple Alley" was unveiled last year as part of the national project "Infrastructure for Life". The project included pathways, lighting, trash cans, and benches, aiming to provide a picturesque walkway for locals and tourists alike.

However, the greening stage of "Apple Alley's" improvement, which was supposed to ensure the planting of 160 stephanandra shrubs, has faced some setbacks. The subcontractor, LLC "BKGGRUPP", was ordered to replace the withered plants within 30 days in July.

Investigations revealed that instead of the contracted 160 stephanandra shrubs, the subcontractor purchased 155 spirea 'Crispata'. Furthermore, the company did not purchase all the required seedlings, resulting in shortages of fruit-bearing apple trees and stephanandra shrubs.

Matters worsened in August when the subcontractor planted unsuitable seedlings in "Apple Alley". They had purchased apple trees from Turkmenistan, and most of them had died by the time they were delivered to the city.

Due to these violations, the municipal contract with LLC "BKGGRUPP" was terminated unilaterally. The city of Syktyvkar has decided to take steps to turn "Apple Alley" into a well-maintained place for walks and relaxation.

Despite the change of subcontractor, the greening work in "Apple Alley" will continue. The company currently commissioned for the further development of "Apple Alley" in Syktyvkar is not publicly specified.

On September 8, an inspection revealed that the greening work in "Apple Alley" had started late, the customer was not notified about the planting, and the material supplied did not meet the project requirements and was of poor quality.

Despite the challenges faced, the city of Syktyvkar remains committed to completing the "Apple Alley" project, ensuring a beautiful and relaxing space for its residents and visitors.
