A deluge of mud overwhelms, inhabited by a layer upon layer of the stuff!

Hannah Taylor, a newcomer to Lound Lakes, has embarked on an exciting journey with the Suffolk Wildlife Trust. As part of her internship, Hannah will attend accredited courses and adult learning sessions, aimed at expanding her knowledge of Suffolk and its diverse wildlife.

The Suffolk Wildlife Trust, known for its focus on conservation and education, offers various programmes to raise awareness about local wildlife and promote conservation practices. These include community engagement, school programmes, and nature reserves. Through these initiatives, the Trust aims to foster a greater understanding of wildlife among locals and visitors alike.

During her second week, Hannah prepared equipment for school visits and events, marking a busy period ahead. She also assisted Katy at Lound Lakes during her first session, where she helped a school group learn about plant and animal life cycles. This hands-on experience provided an early insight into the Trust's educational mission.

Hannah's first week was filled with informative encounters, as she met various team members, including interns, the Wild Learning Team, volunteers, and last year's intern, Vicky. Her first experience with Wild Tots, the Trust's early years programme, was indoors due to weather conditions, but she is eager to explore more outdoor learning opportunities in the future.

Hannah's internship also includes participation in volunteer training days at Carlton and the upcoming opening of the Pop-up Café at the Carlton Marshes reserve on Saturday 6 April. This opportunity will allow her to engage more deeply with the Trust's activities and contribute to its mission.

Hannah is not only gaining practical experience but also working towards increasing her confidence and delivery skills to pursue her future career. She expresses her excitement about the opportunities to assist the Suffolk Wildlife Trust in delivering learning opportunities across Suffolk.

For those interested in the specific activities of the Suffolk Wildlife Trust's Wild Learning Team, contacting them directly or visiting their website is recommended. The Trust's educational programmes are a significant part of their commitment to promoting conservation and education about plant and animal life cycles.

Hannah is excited to explore outdoor learning opportunities through the Suffolk Wildlife Trust's Forest School program, blending her new lifestyle with the tranquillity of outdoor-living and home-and-garden. As her internship progresses, she hopes to cultivate a lifestyle deeply rooted in local conservation efforts, contributing to Suffolk's diverse wildlife and creating a lifelong affinity for the natural world.
