2025 Film Nights Programme and Innovative Site Approach: Detailed Lineup and Revolutionized Plan

Announcing the Commencement of Advance Tickets Sales for Filmnights on the Elbe

After much anticipation, tickets for this year's Filmnights on the Elbe are now available for purchase. The event, set to run from June 19 to August 24, will once again transform the Königsufer into an enchanting open-air cinema.

However, the event's continuation was not guaranteed following the collapse of the Carolabridge in September 2024. The organizers of Filmnights were confronted with an extraordinary predicament. "We had to come up with new strategies in a short span," explains Matthias Pfitzner. To guarantee visitor safety and seamless event execution, a revised security and access plan was developed.

Key modifications include constructing a new transportation route for logistics, assembly, and dismantling, as well as ensuring emergency access. The site has been restructured as a one-way street, with the main visitor entrance located on the August side of the Elbe cycle path. An additional entrance on the Carol side caters to families and individuals with disabilities. Exits are positioned at entrances, as well as at an additional exit on the August side and the construction road.

The construction changes necessitated an increase in ticket prices for regular cinema tickets by 1.50 EUR, bringing the new price to 12.50 EUR. Family cinema ticket prices remain unchanged at 7.50 EUR.

Despite these adjustments, several concerts and the legendary KAISERMANIA are planned as originally scheduled. Early visitors can secure prime spots in the front section. KAISERMANIA VIP guests will use the customary entrance. The event's organizers assure there will be no audible disruptions throughout the concerts due to construction work.

This year's film program offers a diverse selection, with 91 films scheduled for screening. Highlights include "Paddington in Peru," "The Wild Robot," and the documentary "Flow." The evening program boasts 51 films, including "The Nickname," "Cranko," "I Want Everything. Hildegard Knef," and Mascha Schilinski's "Look at the Sun," winners of this year's Cannes Jury Prize.

The popular Midnight Cinema and the Filmnights Soundtrack are also returning, featuring special screenings such as "The Big Lebowski" where bathrobes are welcomed. The much-loved Dirty Dancing Night is slated for August 2.
